The Hardwood Lumber Company manufactures high quality textured stair treads at affordable prices. You will be very happy with the quality of our Textured Clear Alder Stair Treads. Our textured stair treads are milled with new state-of-the-art equipment. Clear Alder textured stair treads are available in standard sizes or can be custom made to your specifications. Textured stair treads are also available in almost any other hardwood species. Custom textured stair tread options include thick stair treads for floating stairs, winder treads and retrofit stair treads in any custom sizes you might need. We offer four texture options on all our wood stair treads, including hand-scraped, wire brushed, sawcut, and distressed. All our wood stair parts, including textured stair treads and textured risers, can be ordered unfinished or prefinished with Tread Coat Varnish, a very durable two-component, commercial grade conversion varnish specifically made for high traffic areas. We can also stain your textured stair treads and risers with a standard stain color or apply a custom stain of your choice, using our stain match service. Choose from our standard sizes or contact us for a custom wood stair tread quote. Our standard stair treads are a full 1" thick. Stair treads and risers over 48" long may be slightly oversize with uneven ends.
Each return is 1-1/4" wide and extends 1-1/2" past the back side of the tread. A left or right-hand return is determined by standing at the bottom of the stairs looking up. We can make textured stair treads with a left or right hand return. Or we can make them with a double end return to any length. All sizes are overall, including the return(s). For example, a single return 36" tread will have a 34-3/4" throat size, a double return 48" tread will have a 45-1/2" throat size.
All Textured Stair Treads are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production, (approximately 2 to 3 days after order is received), will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.
Our Textured Stair Treads are sanded and maintained perfectly on top, while the bottom is left in a potentially rough state, untouched, because when installed it will never be visible.
Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown.
Clear Alder Textured Stair Treads ship within three to four weeks.
Clear Alder wood is light tan or light brown with a yellow or reddish ting. The fine even texture and moderate density of alder wood makes it easy to work with. Alder sands and polishes easily, stains readily, and seldom splits. We use only the higher quality grades of clear alder lumber for our products.
