Classic Butcher Block Cutting Board Details
This African Mahogany Edge Grain Classic Cutting Board is made by using the finest solid African Mahogany wood. Though similar to our Standard Paddle Boards, our new line of Classic Butcher Block Cutting Boards are made with the Edge Grain Construction Style and have a rounded edge all the way around, giving it a unique and beautiful look.
Edge Grain Butcher Block Cutting Boards are made by cutting wood into approximately 1" strips and gluing these strips together with the side of the board facing up. This is known as the “Edge Grain” and it is good at absorbing cuts so that your knife stays sharp. Although the wood may show marks over time, Edge Grain Cutting Boards generally hold up well to years of use.
Please Note: Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown.
All cutting boards are custom made to order. All orders revised or canceled after going into production (approximately 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.
Sizing:
Our standard Classic Cutting Boards are 1" thick x 9-3/4" wide x 23-1/4" in length (including the handle)
Finish
Our African Mahogany Classic Cutting Board comes pre-finished with your choice of food grade Mineral Oil, or Salad Bowl Finish. You can also choose to order your classic cutting board unfinished if you prefer to finish it yourself.
Cutting Board Care & Maintenance
To maximize the lifespan of your wood cutting board, proper care is important.
Upon receiving your order, it is recommended that you clean the board with a damp cloth, then apply another coat of Hardwood Lumber Company Butcher Block Oil or Butcher Block Conditioner before using your cutting board for the first time. A water-resistant glue is used on all of our Edge Grain Classic Cutting Boards.
