Custom Beech Butcher Block Countertop Options

When you order your countertop from the Hardwood Lumber Company, you have a wide variety of options. Learn more about each of the customization choices we offer. Hardwood Lumber Company edge grain butcher block countertops are made with 1" wide edge grain strips. Solid wood strips go the full length of our butcher block countertops, giving them both a great look and durability.

Size

We can mill Beech Edge Grain Countertops up to 4-1/2” thick, 84'' wide, and 114" long.

Finish

We offer a wide selection of finish options for your countertop, including options like acrylic polyurethane, poured epoxy, and teak oil. You can choose to leave your beech countertop unfinished if you would like to complete this step yourself. We also offer stain match services if you need your countertop to match other features in your home.

Our Countertops are made with a good top surface and four good sides. This means the bottom surface might have imperfections. Selecting the High-Grade Bottom Surface option allows you to have the bottom surface be the same grade as the top surface and four sides.

Edge Detail and Texture

Edge details allow you to further custom the look and feel of your countertop. Choose from a variety of edge details, including Rustic Edge, French Tradition, and Cove & Bead. If you prefer to have your countertop sanded smooth and have no texture, be sure to select NONE in the Texture Options.

The Wire Brushed Texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as White Oak, Red Oak, or Ash. On other tighter grain wood species, such as Beech, the Wire Brushed Texture will not have the same effect and will not be as visible.

Cuts and Countertop Prepping

To make installation easier, we offer custom CNC cuts and countertop prepping. Specify the types of prepping or cuts you want, and provide drawings if applicable.

Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail throughout the manufacturing process.

Shipping Information

All wood countertops are custom made to order. Shipping may vary depending on your customization options. Please provide for a standard lead of 2 weeks for processing, milling, and shipping of all custom countertop orders.

Beech

Beech sapwood is white with a red tinge, while the heartwood is light to dark reddish brown. Beech is generally straight-grained with a close uniform texture. Beech is classed as heavy, hard, strong, high in resistance to shock and good resistance to abrasive wear. We use only the higher quality grades of beech lumber for our products.
