Steamed Walnut Countertop

Steamed Walnut Countertops contain up to 40% Sap Wood. This low percentage creates an ideal platform for the steaming process to extract and disperse color throughout the board. The steaming process gives the countertop an incredibly beautiful, golden brown color than can’t be achieved through any other means. If you’re looking for a beautiful, vibrantly colored countertop, Steamed Walnut can’t be beat!

Hardwood Lumber Company specializes in manufacturing quality butcher block countertops and wood countertops. Steamed Walnut butcher block countertops can be custom made to your specifications. We can make Steamed Walnut Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertops up to 4-1/2" thick, 84" wide, and 138" long. Butcher block countertops are available in many other hardwood species. Edge grain butcher block countertops can also be made with mixed wood species. Our butcher block countertops and wood countertops are available unfinished or prefinished. We offer butcher block countertops with the following finish options, Acrylic Polyurethane, Food Safe Mineral Oil, or a Poured Epoxy finish. We also offer staining with the option of a standard stain color or custom stain matching. Steamed Walnut butcher block countertops and wood countertops can be made with a large selection of edge details ranging from a slight eased edge to decorative classic and ogee edge details. Butcher block countertops and wood countertops are a great choice for kitchens or any other room if you like the natural warmth and beauty of wood. Hardwood Lumber Company edge grain butcher block countertops are made with 1" wide edge grain strips. Solid wood strips go the full length of our butcher block countertops, giving them a better look and more durability then blended butcher blocks offered by other butcher block manufacturers, where short strips are joined together. Butcher block countertops are also great for island tops, tabletops, and bar tops. We now offer the option for custom sink cutouts, custom stove cutouts, and other custom cuts. Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail throughout the manufacturing process.

All wood countertops are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.

If you prefer to have your countertop sanded smooth and have no texture, be sure to select NONE in the Texture Options.

Our Countertops are made with a good top surface and four good sides. This means the bottom surface might have imperfections. Selecting the High-Grade Bottom Surface option allows you to have the bottom surface be the same grade as the top surface and four sides.

Wire Brushed texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as White Oak, Red Oak and Ash. On other tighter grain wood species the Wire Brushed Texture will not have the same effect and will not be as visible.

Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown.

Steamed Walnut Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertops ship within 2 weeks, depending on your customization and finish selection.

Steamed Walnut

The sapwood of walnut is creamy white, while the heartwood is light brown to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with a purplish cast and darker streaks. Walnut is generally straight-grained, but sometimes with wavy or curly grain that produces an attractive and decorative figure. Walnut works easily with hand and machine tools, and nails, screws and glues well. It holds paint and stain very well for an exceptional finish and is readily polished. Our Steamed Walnut contains up to 40% sapwood. The steaming process extracts color and disperses it throughout the sapwood, resulting in a warm golden brown color. This color is blended through the steaming process.
