White Oak Wide Plank Countertop Details
Wood countertops will add warmth to any kitchen or dining room not achievable with other countertop materials. White oak is a common tree across North America. Its finished wood grain is lighter in shade and is known for its durability and water resistance.
Our wide plank white oak counters are manufactured by the Hardwood Lumber Company in our state-of-the-art milling facility. Made from random width planks that run the full length, our wide plank countertops do not have any butt joints or finger joints. Face grain showcases the woods full grain pattern, highlighting the unique qualities of the specific wood species. Our Countertops are made with a good top surface and four good sides. This means the bottom surface might have imperfections. Selecting the High-Grade Bottom Surface option allows you to have the bottom surface be the same grade as the top surface and four sides.
Please Note: Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown. All wood countertops are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.
Warranty Information: Please carefully read all warranty information, including installation instructions and timeframe.
White Oak Countertop Options
Sizing
We can make your custom white oak wide plank countertops up to 1-3/4” thick, 84'' wide, and 162" long. Wide plank countertops make great wood desktops and tabletops. The durability of white oak wood makes it especially great for use as an everyday surface.
Finish
Select from a wide range of finish options for your countertop. We offer standard stain options and alternative finishes, such as teak and mineral oil coatings. You can also take advantage of our stain match service or order your countertops unfinished if you’d like to stain the piece yourself.
Edge Detail and Texture
Enhance the look of your mahogany countertop by adding intricate edge details and a texture. View all our edge detail options for butcher block countertops, or browse our wood textures. If you prefer to have your countertop sanded smooth and have no texture, be sure to select NONE in the Textures Options.
Wire Brushed texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as Oak. On other tighter grain wood species the Wire Brushed Texture will not have the same effect and will not be as visible.
Available Cuts and Countertop Prepping
To make installation easier, we can do a variety of custom cuts and/or joint prepping. We now offer the option for a sink cutout, stove cutout and other custom cuts. Our CNC cutting machines create precise cuts so you know the butcher block will fit just right. Please select the “Custom CNC Cuts” option in the product menu and provide us with details.

White Oak
White oak sapwood is light-colored and the heartwood is light to dark brown. White oak is mostly straight-grained with a medium to coarse texture, with longer rays than red oak. White oak therefore has more figure. We use only the higher quality grades of white oak lumber for our products.
