The Hardwood Lumber Company manufactures high quality Wood Stair Treads and Stair Risers at affordable prices. You will be very happy with the quality of our African Mahogany Stair Risers. All our Stair Treads and Risers are milled with new, state-of-the-art equipment. African Mahogany Stair Risers are available in standard sizes or can be custom made to your specifications. Stair Treads and Risers are also available in almost any other hardwood species. We offer various texture options on all our Wood Stair Treads and Risers, including hand-scraped, wire brushed, sawcut, and distressed. All our Wood Stair Parts, including Wood Stair Treads and Risers, can be ordered unfinished or prefinished with Tread Coat Varnish, a very durable two-component, commercial grade conversion varnish, specifically made for high traffic areas. We can also stain your Wood Stair Treads and Risers with a standard stain color or apply a custom stain of your choice, using our stain match service. Choose from our standard sizes or contact us for a custom Wood Stair Riser quote. Stair treads and risers over 48" long may be slightly oversized with uneven ends.
All stair risers are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.
Our Standard Wood Stair Risers are 3/4" thick x 8" tall. We also offer Retrofit Stair Risers. Retrofit risers are only 3/8" thick, made to fit over existing stair risers.
Our stair risers are sanded and maintained perfectly on top, while the bottom is left in a potentially rough state, untouched, because when installed it will never be visible.
Our stair treads and risers are made with a three to five piece glue up.
Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown.
If you prefer to have your stair riser sanded smooth and have no texture, be sure to select NONE in the Texture Options.
The Wire Brushed Texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as White Oak, Red Oak, and Ash. On other tighter grain wood species, such as African Mahogany, the Wire Brushed Texture will not have the same effect and will not be as visible.
African Mahogany Stair Risers ship within 2 to 3 weeks.
African Mahogany Heartwood color varies, ranging from a pale pink to a deeper reddish brown, sometimes having streaks of medium to dark reddish brown. African mahogany tends to darken with age. African mahogany is easy to work with, glue and finish. African mahogany is a good substitute for genuine mahogany. We use only the higher quality grades of african mahogany lumber for our products.
