Beech Wide Plank (Face Grain) Countertop
Hardwood Lumber Company specializes in manufacturing quality custom-made wide plank (face grain) countertops and wood countertops. All of our Beech wood countertops and wood table tops are custom-made to your specifications at our manufacturing facility in Ohio. Custom wide plank countertops are made using random width planks that run the full length of our wide plank (face grain) countertop. Hardwood Lumber Company wide plank (face grain) countertops and wood countertops do not have any butt joints or finger joints. Custom wide plank countertops are made with board face turned up (flat grain). We can make custom Beech wide plank countertops up to 1-3/4” thick, 84'' wide, and 114" long. Wide plank (face grain) countertops and wood countertops also make great wood desktops and wood table tops. Hardwood Lumber Company wood countertops and wood table tops can be purchased with an Acrylic Polyurethane finish, or a Mineral Oil finish. We offer a choice of clear finish or choose from a large selection of stain color options. We also offer unfinished wood countertops if you decide to finish your own wood countertop or wood table top. We offer custom sink cutouts, custom stove cutouts, or any other custom cuts on all wood countertops we make. Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail at every step of the manufacturing process. Wood countertops will add warmth to any kitchen or dining room not achievable with other countertop materials.
All wood countertops are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.
Our countertops are sanded and maintained perfectly on top and four sides, while the bottom is left in a potentially rough state, untouched, because when installed, it will never be visible. Selecting the High Grade Bottom Surface allows you to order your countertop with the bottom being the same grade as the top surface and four sides.
If you prefer to have your countertop sanded smooth and have no texture, be sure to select NONE in the Textures Options.
Wire Brushed texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as White Oak, Red Oak, and Ash. On other tighter grain wood species the Wire Brushed Texture will not have the same effect and will not be as visible.
Beech Wide Plank (Face Grain) Countertops ship within 2 to 3 weeks, depending on your customization and finish selection.
Your new Hardwood Lumber Company countertop is protected by a one-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship. To ensure your warranty remains valid, any unfinished countertops must be finished and installed within one week of delivery, and you must follow our Countertop Finishing and Installation Guide precisely. Natural wood characteristics, such as minor warping due to environmental changes (often correctable with proper installation) or variations in grain and color, are not considered defects. The warranty does not cover scuffs or scratches on prefinished countertops caused by installation or normal wear and tear. Specific conditions that will void the warranty include not adhering to the finishing and installation guide, failing to support overhangs greater than 10 inches, or not properly protecting cutouts for stoves (from heat) and sinks (from moisture). Additionally, countertops with sink cutouts that have a Mineral Oil Finish or Salad Bowl Finish are not covered under this warranty

Small Item Shipping
Items under 70 lbs and 96 inches long ship via FedEx Ground or UPS Ground. You can select your preferred carrier at checkout.
Large Item Shipping (Freight)
Larger orders are shipped securely on a pallet via motor freight.
- Standard Delivery: With this option, you'll be responsible for unloading your order from the truck.
- Liftgate Service: For easier unloading, select this at checkout. The driver will lower the pallet to the ground. (Note: Typically for items up to 90" long. For items over 90" needing liftgate, please contact us).
- White Glove Delivery: For ultimate convenience with most larger items, choose White Glove Service at checkout. We'll deliver your order directly to your room of choice.
Receiving Damaged Items
Please inspect your order for any damage before signing the delivery receipt.
- Note Damage with Driver: If you see any damage, ensure the driver notes it on the delivery receipt prior to signing. This is very important.
- Significant Damage: If an item appears unusable due to severe damage, please refuse the delivery.
- Contact Us: In any case of damage or refusal, notify us immediately. We'll arrange a prompt replacement.
To keep your hardwood countertop looking its best and performing well for years to come, proper care is essential. If your countertop arrived unfinished, it's crucial to apply a food-safe finish to all surfaces (top, bottom, and all edges) within one week of delivery. For countertops finished with oil, re-apply a quality butcher block oil or conditioner approximately twice a month, or whenever the wood begins to look dry, to keep it hydrated and protected. Clean your countertop regularly with mild soap and warm water, wiping up spills promptly. For disinfection, a diluted white vinegar solution can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners and never let water stand on the surface for extended periods. For specialized finishes like Rubio Monocoat, use the recommended cleaning and maintenance products to preserve its unique properties.
Beech
Beech sapwood is white with a red tinge, while the heartwood is light to dark reddish brown. Beech is generally straight-grained with a close uniform texture. Beech is classed as heavy, hard, strong, high in resistance to shock and good resistance to abrasive wear. We use only the higher quality grades of beech lumber for our products.
