Its pale, creamy color creates a clean, bright aesthetic that complements a variety of interior styles. The fine, uniform grain of hard maple adds a subtle texture without overpowering a room.
The inherent strength of this wood ensures your shelves will remain sturdy and beautiful for years to come. Whether you're displaying cherished keepsakes, organizing your workspace, or simply adding a touch of refinement to your living space, hard maple floating shelves offer unparalleled quality and style.
Hard Maple vs Soft Maple
Hard maple, often referred to as sugar maple, is primarily found in the northeastern United States and parts of Canada. Soft maple, a broader category encompassing several species, is more widely distributed across the continent.
Hard maple is significantly harder, denser, and stronger than soft maple, making it more durable and resistant to wear. Hard maple also boasts a lighter, more uniform color and finer grain compared to soft maple's darker appearance and more pronounced grain patterns.

Customize Your Floating Shelves
Sizes & Styles: Choose from standard sizes or customize to your exact specifications. Our versatility allows for a perfect fit in any space.
Edge Details: Tailor the look of your shelves with five edge detail options: square, eased (1/16", 1/8", 1/4" radius), and beveled edges.
Texture & Finish: Personalize your shelves with a variety of texture options for a unique or distressed look. Opt for a smooth, sanded finish or select from our wire brushed textures for added character. Available unfinished or prefinished, with standard or custom stain options to match your decor perfectly.
Made To Order With Care
Custom Orders: All shelves are made to order, ensuring a perfect match for your specific requirements.
Crafting Process: Wide Plank (Face Grain) shelves thicker than 1-¾” are carefully constructed with face-glued planks for enhanced durability and aesthetics.
Texture Selection: For those preferring a smooth texture, select "NONE" under Texture Options. Note that wire brushed texture varies by wood species. Wire Brushed Texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as oak and ash. For wood like hard maple, wire brushing will be difficult to notice and may not offer the same rustic look.

Maintaining your beautiful hardwood floating shelves is simple. Regular dusting with a soft, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth will keep them looking clean and highlight the natural beauty of the wood. If a more thorough cleaning is needed, use a mild wood-safe cleaner, being sure to wipe away any residue with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. By keeping them clean and dry, your floating shelves will continue to be an elegant and functional display in your space.
