Hardwood Lumber Company specializes in manufacturing quality butcher block countertops and wood countertops. Mixed Maple/Walnut butcher block countertops can be custom made to your specifications. We can make Mixed Maple/Walnut Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertops up to 4-1/2" thick, up to 84" wide, and the length up to 138". Butcher block countertops are available in many other hardwood species. Edge grain butcher block countertops can also be made with mixed wood species. Our butcher block countertops and wood countertops are available unfinished or prefinished. We offer butcher block countertops with the following finish options, Acrylic Polyurethane, Food Safe Mineral Oil, or Poured Epoxy finish. We also offer staining with the option of a standard stain color or custom stain matching. Mixed Maple/Walnut butcher block countertops and wood countertops can be made with a large selection of edge details ranging from a slight eased edge to decorative classic and ogee edge details. Butcher block countertops and wood countertops are a great choice for kitchens or any other room if you like the natural warmth and beauty of wood. Hardwood Lumber Company edge grain butcher block countertops are made with 1" wide edge grain strips. Solid wood strips go the full length of our butcher block countertops giving them a better look and more durability then blended butcher blocks offered by other butcher block manufacturers, where short strips are joined together. Butcher block countertops are also great for island tops, tabletops, and bar tops. We now offer the option for custom sink cutouts, custom stove cutouts, and other custom cuts. Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail throughout the manufacturing process.
All wood countertops are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.
If you prefer to have your countertop sanded smooth and have no texture, be sure to select NONE in the Texture Options.
Our Countertops are made with a good top surface and four good sides. This means the bottom surface might have imperfections. Selecting the High-Grade Bottom Surface option allows you to have the bottom surface be the same grade as the top surface and four sides.
Wire Brushed texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as White Oak, Red Oak and Ash. On other tighter grain wood species the Wire Brushed Texture will not have the same effect and will not be as visible.
Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown.
Mixed Maple/Walnut Edge Grain Butcher Block Countertops ship within 2 weeks, depending on your customization and finish selection.
Hard Maple
Hard Maple sapwood is creamy white with a slight reddish brown tinge and the heartwood varies from light to dark reddish brown. Hard Maple has a close fine, uniform texture and is generally straight-grained. Hard Maple is hard and heavy with good strength properties, in particular its high resistance to abrasion and wear. We use only the higher quality grades of Hard Maple lumber for our products.
Soft Maple
In most respects soft maple is very similar to hard maple. Generally soft maple sapwood is greyish white. The heartwood varies from light to dark reddish brown. Soft Maple is usually straight-grained and has low shock resistance. Soft maple is about 25 percent less hard than hard maple. The soft maple we use for our products is selected for a white color. We use only the higher quality grades of Soft Maple lumber for our products.
