Customize Your Baker's Table

The Hardwood Lumber Company mill workers can help you craft the perfect baker's table for your home. With a variety of customization options, you can be assured your custom table will meet all of your needs.

Our sales team will be able to provide a detailed quote based on your specific dimensions and other selected features.

Baking Table Construction Style

Traditionally, baker’s tables are built with a 5-inch backsplash on the back and sides of the tabletop. The backsplash ensures that you keep your flour, sugar, or other baking ingredients from sliding over the edge and making a mess.

Antique baker’s tables, sometimes called possum belly baking tables, had big tin drawers underneath that bakers would keep loose flour in. Our modern baking table removes the drawers for a lower matching wood shelf.

Our standard construction style of this baking table is Edge Grain but can also be purchased in End Grain or Wide Plank in any wood species you would prefer.

Wood Species

You can select from any of our 50 different wood species for your custom baker’s table. Our most popular selections are Maple, Oak, Walnut, and Hickory.

The standard wood option for the Baker's Table is Hard Maple. We think hard maple is great wood species specifically for baking tables because of its gorgeous wood grain, color character, and durability.

Finish

Our Modern Baker's Table comes standard with our Salad Bowl wood finish providing you with a smooth surface to do your baking. This wood conditioner is food safe and safe to chop on.

It will need to be re-applied periodically dependent on use.

Baker’s Table Sizing

Our standard dimensions for this baker’s table are:

  • Baker’s Table Top: 2" thick with a 5" high riser. 48" in length x 26" wide.

  • Table Legs: 33-1/2" tall x 40" apart in length, 18” apart in width, and 2” thick.
