The Monument Pedestal Dining Table is built around a single idea: one strong column carrying a solid hardwood top. Its laminated 6" x 6" pedestal tapers as it rises, giving the table a clean, sculptural silhouette that reads as much like architecture as furniture.
The pedestal is laminated from solid hardwood for strength and stability, then anchored to a four-foot base with chamfered feet that spread wide for a steady, balanced footprint. The table shown is ash with an ebony stain. Ash has a bold, open grain, so its figure stays visible through the dark finish rather than disappearing beneath it. Traditional joinery ties it all together.
With no corner legs in the way, chairs slide in from any side and knees never meet a leg. At 24" x 30" as shown, it seats two comfortably, making it a natural fit for a breakfast nook, a small dining room, or an apartment. It works just as well as a writing table, a compact meeting table, or a statement piece in a café or hospitality space.

How do I care for my table?
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills promptly. Use coasters and trivets under hot or wet items, avoid harsh cleaners, and keep the table out of sustained direct sunlight to prevent uneven color change.

Ash
Ash sapwood is light-colored to nearly white and the heartwood varies from greyish or light brown, to pale yellow streaked with brown. Ash is generally straight-grained with a coarse uniform texture. Ash machines well, is good in nailing, screwing and gluing, and can be stained to a very good finish. Ash has very good overall strength properties relative to its weight and has excellent shock resistance. We use only the higher quality grades of Ash lumber for our products.
