Walnut Edge Grain Cutting Board Details

This sturdy edge grain Walnut cutting board will hold up to years of meal prep. The rich color of the wood also makes it an attractive piece to display in your kitchen. Made with the finest solid wood, our butcher block cutting boards are practically indestructible.

Please Note: Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown. All cutting boards are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.

Customize Your Walnut Cutting Board

Each cutting board is made-to-order, meaning we can make it to your specifications. Choose a size, thickness, and other features when you place your order.

We offer these standard cutting board sizes:

  • 10” deep by 16” long

  • 12” deep by 18” long

  • 14” deep by 22” long

Our woodworkers can also create a custom size cutting board for you.

Thickness

Cutting board thickness ranges from 3/4" inch to 4-½ inches.

Finish

We pre-finish your cutting board with Mineral Oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil, or our Tried and True Salad Bowl Finish. Please specify your preference when you place your order. Or, choose to ship your cutting board unfinished. For best results, we do recommend that you finish the board.

Additional Features

Add these optional features to your cutting board to make meal prep even easier:

  • Juice groove to catch drips

  • Feet for added stability

  • Finger grips

Our Standard Edge Grain Cutting Boards have square corners and a 1/8" radius on all edges. Upon receiving your order, it is recommended that you clean the board with a damp cloth, then apply another coat of Hardwood Lumber Company Butcher Block Oil or Butcher Block Conditioner, before using your cutting board for the first time. A water-resistant glue is used on all our Butcher Block Cutting Boards.

Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail throughout the manufacturing process.

Clear Walnut

The sapwood of walnut is creamy white, while the heartwood is light brown to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with a purplish cast and darker streaks. Walnut is generally straight-grained, but sometimes with wavy or curly grain that produces an attractive and decorative figure. Walnut works easily with hand and machine tools, and nails, screws and glues well. It holds paint and stain very well for an exceptional finish and is readily polished. Our clear walnut products are made with minimum sapwood.
