Walnut Wide Plank Countertop Details
Our wide plank walnut countertops add a warm, rustic feel to your home. With a beautiful dark color, our walnut matches a variety of home decor styles. Custom wide plank countertops are made with board face turned up (flat grain). The random width planks run the full length of the countertop. Our wide plank counters do not have any butt joints or finger joints. Our Countertops are made with a good top surface and four good sides. This means the bottom surface might have imperfections. Selecting the High-Grade Bottom Surface option allows you to have the bottom surface be the same grade as the top surface and four sides.
Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail at every step of the manufacturing process. Wood countertops will add warmth to any kitchen or dining room not achievable with other countertop materials.
Please Note: Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown. All wood countertops are custom made to order. All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.

About Our Walnut
Walnut countertops contain a fine mixture of less than 40% Sap Wood and greater than 60% Heart Wood. This makes the pieces look vibrant and colorful while maintaining the rigidity necessary for a countertop. All our true Walnut pieces are sourced and maintained from true undisturbed Black Walnut. These pieces are incredibly natural and as close as you can get to 100% natural Walnut. These pieces’ color is a dark, natural and beautiful Walnut. If you’re looking for a natural and beautiful dark countertop, True Walnut is the only choice.

Sizing
We can make custom Walnut wide plank countertops up to 1-3/4” thick, 84'' depth, and 138" long. Choose from our standard size options or submit a custom countertop quote request.
Finish
Choose a finish for your countertop and add a stain if desired. We offer various finishes, including food safe options.
Edge Detail and Texture
To enhance the look of your countertop, consider choosing an edge detail for the corners of the counter. You can also select a texture to give the wood more character. Make sure you check out the large selection of edge details and textures we can apply to your wood countertops! If you prefer to have your countertop sanded smooth and have no texture, be sure to select NONE in the Texture Options.
Wire Brushed texture works best on wood with an open grain, such as Walnut. On other tighter grain wood species the Wire Brushed Texture will not have the same effect and will not be as visible.
Available Cuts and Countertop Prepping
We can add various cuts and joint prepping to make it easier to install your countertops. For example, we can include a cutout for a stove or sink.

All wood countertops are custom made to order. Shipping may vary depending on your customization options. Please provide for a standard lead of 2 to 3 weeks for processing, milling, and shipping of countertop orders.

Your new Hardwood Lumber Company countertop is protected by a one-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship. To ensure your warranty remains valid, any unfinished countertops must be finished and installed within one week of delivery, and you must follow our Countertop Finishing and Installation Guide precisely. Natural wood characteristics, such as minor warping due to environmental changes (often correctable with proper installation) or variations in grain and color, are not considered defects. The warranty does not cover scuffs or scratches on prefinished countertops caused by installation or normal wear and tear. Specific conditions that will void the warranty include not adhering to the finishing and installation guide, failing to support overhangs greater than 10 inches, or not properly protecting cutouts for stoves (from heat) and sinks (from moisture). Additionally, countertops with sink cutouts that have a Mineral Oil Finish or Salad Bowl Finish are not covered under this warranty

Small Item Shipping
Items under 70 lbs and 96 inches long ship via FedEx Ground or UPS Ground. You can select your preferred carrier at checkout.
Large Item Shipping (Freight)
Larger orders are shipped securely on a pallet via motor freight.
- Standard Delivery: With this option, you'll be responsible for unloading your order from the truck.
- Liftgate Service: For easier unloading, select this at checkout. The driver will lower the pallet to the ground. (Note: Typically for items up to 90" long. For items over 90" needing liftgate, please contact us).
- White Glove Delivery: For ultimate convenience with most larger items, choose White Glove Service at checkout. We'll deliver your order directly to your room of choice.
Receiving Damaged Items
Please inspect your order for any damage before signing the delivery receipt.
- Note Damage with Driver: If you see any damage, ensure the driver notes it on the delivery receipt prior to signing. This is very important.
- Significant Damage: If an item appears unusable due to severe damage, please refuse the delivery.
- Contact Us: In any case of damage or refusal, notify us immediately. We'll arrange a prompt replacement.
To keep your hardwood countertop looking its best and performing well for years to come, proper care is essential. If your countertop arrived unfinished, it's crucial to apply a food-safe finish to all surfaces (top, bottom, and all edges) within one week of delivery. For countertops finished with oil, re-apply a quality butcher block oil or conditioner approximately twice a month, or whenever the wood begins to look dry, to keep it hydrated and protected. Clean your countertop regularly with mild soap and warm water, wiping up spills promptly. For disinfection, a diluted white vinegar solution can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners and never let water stand on the surface for extended periods. For specialized finishes like Rubio Monocoat, use the recommended cleaning and maintenance products to preserve its unique properties.
