Cherry Edge Grain Cutting Board Details
This Cherry Edge Grain Cutting Board is made by using the finest solid cherry wood. Cherry wood is known for having a color ranging from cream to reddish brown. It is an excellent choice for a cutting board, as it is easy to mill and can be sanded to a smooth finish.
Cherry Wood Cutting Board Properties
Cherry wood is more susceptible to scratching from knives due to its medium density and strength. However, it will not dull or damage knife edges compared to harder woods. It is important that cherry wood is properly maintained when used for cutting boards to prevent excess scarring of the wood grain.

All cutting boards are custom made to order. All orders revised or canceled after going into production (approximately 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.

Thickness
Choose your desired thickness for your cutting board. Options range from ¾ inch to 4-½ inches.
Finish
Our Butcher Block Cutting Boards come pre-finished with your choice of food grade Mineral Oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil, or Salad Bowl Finish. You can also order your cutting board unfinished.

Our Standard Edge Grain Cutting Boards have square corners and a ⅛” radius on all edges.
Cutting Board Care & Maintenance
To maximize the lifespan of your wood cutting board, proper care is important.
Upon receiving your order, it is recommended that you clean the board with a damp cloth, then apply another coat of Hardwood Lumber Company Butcher Block Oil or Butcher Block Conditioner before using your cutting board for the first time. A water-resistant glue is used on all of our Butcher Block Cutting Boards.
Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail at every step throughout the manufacturing process.

All cutting boards are custom made to order. Shipping may vary depending on your customization options. Please provide for a standard lead of 2 to 3 weeks for processing, milling, and shipping of Cherry Cutting Board orders.

Character Cherry
Cherry heartwood varies from rich red to reddish brown and will darken with age and on exposure to light. In contrast, cherry sapwood is creamy white. Cherry wood has a fine uniform, straight grain, satiny, smooth texture, and may naturally contain brown pith flecks and small gum pockets. Cherry is easy to machine, nails and glues well and when sanded and stained, it produces an excellent smooth finish. Our character cherry products are made by mixing the heartwood and sapwood and may also have some pith flecks and small gum pockets along with some tight knots.
