Made by using the finest solid White Oak wood, these Butcher Block Cutting Boards are practically indestructible. Our Standard Wide Plank Cutting Boards have square corners and a 1/8" radius on all edges. All of our Wide Plank Cutting Boards are pre-treated with the standard option of Mineral Oil or, salad Bowl Finish. Upon receiving your order, it is recommended that you clean the board with a damp cloth, then apply another coat of Hardwood Lumber Company Butcher Block Oil or Butcher Block Conditioner, before using your cutting board for the first time. You can also order your cutting board to be shipped unfinished, if you prefer to not have your product sealed with Mineral Oil. Additionally, we also offer the option for a Juice Groove and Finger Slots. Hardwood Lumber Company Butcher Block Cutting Boards are of the best quality, wood cutting boards available. A water-resistant glue is used for all our Butcher Block Cutting Boards.

Face Grain (Wide Plank) Construction

Face grain, or “wide plank”, construction involves showing the face of the lumber as opposed to the edge or end. This style of construction shows more of the surface grain pattern, with deeper, coarser grains less visible. This results in a more consistent appearance across the cutting board, with less contrast of grain patterns. All Wide Plank Cutting Boards are glued up from various planks of wood running the full length of the Cutting Board.

If we don't have your cutting board size and/or wood species listed, contact us for a Custom Cutting Board Quote.

Most of our woodworkers are craftsmen from the local Amish community, providing great attention to quality and detail at every step throughout the manufacturing process.

Because each piece of wood has its own unique character, grain and color will vary from the sample images shown.

All orders revised or cancelled after going into production (within 24 hours after order is received) will have a restocking fee of up to 50%.

White Oak

White oak sapwood is light-colored and the heartwood is light to dark brown. White oak is mostly straight-grained with a medium to coarse texture, with longer rays than red oak. White oak therefore has more figure. We use only the higher quality grades of white oak lumber for our products.
